Default Intermittent Oil Pressure

I have a 1989 Ford Ranger XLT with intermittent oil pressure. One day I was driving and the oil pressure went to zero and the lifters starting clapping.Got truck to house, drained oil, flushed engine, install new filter and oil. Now when it first starts up the oil pressure is normal.Drive about 10 miles and it looses pressure.Let it rest for about 30 minutes and the pressure goes back to normal.I heard that an oil pump will be good or it will be bad. Any ideas? If so you can email me here or at my email address bob@bobbowler.com. Really need help with this one...
