Oh, I forgot to ask, which weight of Amsoil are you using? I saw on their website that the 5w20 XL had a very tempting price.

Just so you know if you are driving at too low RPM's the engine is hitting higher load cells and it dumps more fuel and can pull timing. Also I've found logging that lower RPM cruising dosen't give the same consistency as "medium low" for fuel trims.

Are you on the City road, freeway (65+mph), or highway (55-58mph) most of the time?

My City is mostly around 25mpg. Highway- 31mpg, Freeway-23

Yeah, if you are mostly freeway, then you are in line with the MPG.

Yep, anything faster than 55 - 60 mph will cause the gas mileage to drop off. That is why the 55 mph speed limit was imposed in the 70's. The best you can do is drive the speed limit on roads higher than 55 - 60 mph to get the best mileage you can. If that isn't feasible, then whatever traffic is doing. Some areas of the country have people that drive like they are in a race, if you go the speed limit you will get creamed and possibly a ticket for creating a hazard.

Here is a generic chart on mileage vs. speed.

It has been 25 some years since I've been to Fla, but yeah, I recall drivers in fla drive FAST! So gotta do what you gotta do.

When we go to my parents, it's 55 speed limit and other towns. If we go to my inlaws, then it's 65.

In D/FW, only 3 things will get you pulled over: expired tags, no seat belt, changing lanes without signal. You are expected to drive at least 70. The metro wide speed limit (on non-turnpikes) is 60. If you drive 60, you do so at your own risk...of being run off the road or shot. And don't look at anybody. A guy got shot down there for looking at another guy's rims...on the freeway.

I have gotten my avg mileage back up to between 28 and 29. I switched back to amsoil 5w30 high performance and changed my route a little. I'm shifting around 2500 and cruising 65-70. I tried a tank on shifting at 2000 and driving 55-60 and it. was the same mileage with more pissy drivers.

I got my mileage back up to 28-29 too. Returned the engine tune to stock, so I could run cheap gas.

Yeah, they don't like it when you drive under the speed limit, even though you are still in the 15 mph range. Hell, there are people that get pissed if you are driving at the limit and not over it. :/

Yea, on 95 and 2-95 you have to do at least 70 feel like you're just keeping up with traffic lol. I do 65 and get passed like I'm standing still.
