try a k&n air filter replacement for starters cause it soo easy and like only $40 and it replaces the more restrictive factory air filters

also, a cold air intake would be even better and you could get a k&n one if you wanted..they claim that will give you better milage and more ponies but im not to sure about the milage but there is more power, at least thats what i have always found

nos is a bad idea, you will fry ur engine, intake, headers, and exhaust, probally 20-30 horses. autopartswarehouse.com has a performance chip for the 2.3l and with that, and the 3 other things i went from the stock 146 to 203hp cost about 500 bucks total, but all three combined a 57hp jump is quite a bit for 500bucks....

i have not ben able to find a cold air for my 94 so i just built my own.you can find everything you need at most parts stores for about 60.00 just make sure that you put the air temp sencor in there.you may need to drill a hole somewhere before the mass air flow sensor.it only took about an hour once i got the parts.what a huge difference

I bought a new air filter( as in high flow round tapered one), and installed in right after the MAF sensor. If I start the engine, it dies. Replace with factory filter assembly, it works. Whats goin on?

It has to due with air flow & turbulance. Which causes the MAF sensor to not get a good read.

I have seen this discussed on the Mustang forum on some CAI.

The fix was simply putting in a piece of rabbit fence ( not sure of the correct term) if you don't know what it is ask any farm supply place. It is sort of like a screen, just bigger holes (about 3/8th inch)

place the mesh at or near the filter.
