Change timing belt wont start
2000 ranger 2.5, stick, 205,000 miles. I was driving about 50 mph then motor died. I found the timing belt broke. Every thing Ive read says its a non interfierance engine. Ive pulled #1 plug verified TDC crank pulley key at 12 oclock, Cam dimonds on there make about 4 oclock, oil pump on the mark 12 oclock. Ive turned the crank by hand and dont feel any odd problems and I do feel compression. To do a test start I did not reinstall the serpintine belt, left off the ac pump, left off the fan, left out the radiator and of coarse the altornator is not turning with the belt off, and engine is drain of coolent. I wanted to do a test start up to be sure of the timing . . . and I get no start . . . nothing, no sputter, no pop nothing. Please I need help any ideas ??
