Default idle drops when ac or heat is turned on

1999 ranger 2.5 idles great until i turn that ac or heat switch on. As soon as it kicks on... idle drops and fluctuates around similar to maybe a small vacum leak or something of the sort. Is there a particular vacum line i should be looking for. Could the iacv be the culprit?

what you are feeling is the AC compressor kicking on and off. its more pronounced with the smaller motors. its nothing to worry about, its normal.

i had a civic before that was rough with ac on, but this is relatively extreme. Like struggling to idle. i found a grey vacum line chilling by my blower box under the hood. Its small and has a black piece on the end in the shape of a right angle. I cant seem to find where it goes its routed through this little tabs on the front of the blower box. Anyone know where this goes?

Not sure, but the hole in the intake tube needs to be plugged.
