yeah they still operate though i just ran the truck to see if hteres a difference with it plugged and unplugged didnt do anything so i guess its not the problem.

I think it plugs into a vacuum switch that controls your the amount of heat you want in the cab? Do you still have that ability? Perhaps that switch was removed, because it should be attached to the heater hose where it tees off. Either way without being plugged up or into something, it's a vacuum leak.
