replaced fuel pump, still runs rough. HELP!
about a week ago i bought a 1990 ranger, 5 speed, 2.3L, std. cab and it ran a little rough. had no power while going up slight inclines and pulling out was next to impossible. the guy i bought it from said the timing belt was off a notch or two. had a mechanic look at it and the fuel pressure was about 10 lbs too low. the timing belt was ONE notch off and he fixed that and replaced the fuel pump with a factory one from ford and the power is great now, but still idles low and sputters to almost dying out when i give it gas in first. mechanic said it only did that because the engine was cold. but even after driving 15 minutes and then stopping at a light, it STILL idles low and almost dies when i pull out. any suggestions?! please help! much appreciated!!!
