Default Brake line question on 99 2.5 2wd

Hi guys I have a 99 ranger 2wd reg cab. I have to replace the steel brakeline on the drivers side. It goes from the rear end along the framerail and connects to another fitting that looks like it goes under the hood ( most likely MC) My question is the rear end fitting used a 7/16 to get it off and the other end ( under drivers door) was 1/2 wrench. Is this common to have 2 sizes? Also are both ends inverted flare 3-16 , one near the drivers door has a bubble end. any help is appreciated. Rust does suck!
