will bad vacum lines cause a check engine light to activate? I can drive my truck about 10 minutes and the light comes on. I need to get it inspected and the light will fail the test.

does it stutter while sitting idle? Usually bad vacuum lines will cause issues with the engine running the entire time it is running. I do not know whether or not a vacuum line will cause a check engine light though.

Does the light go off occasionally then come back on? Mine does this, I got the codes pulled and it was the EGR system. From what I've read this seems to be a fairly common problem with Rangers and will cause the CEL to go on and off periodically.

Hows your gas mileage? Any hesitation when accelerating? Any specific symptoms you know of that have occurred since the CEL came on? A little more info may help diagnose your problem.

Mine does the same thing after i run the ac for awhile. ran a code tester on it and it says it has low voltage on the egr sensor. I'm about ready to take the bulb out of the dash. No one seem to know how to fix the low voltage issue.
