Default Heater Control Valve on 2.5L

Question for the 2.5 guys. Does your heater control valve have a bracket connected to the HVAC box to hold up the heater lines? Mine didn't but every Ranger and Explorer I've seen has one (I haven't seen another 2.5). Pics would be very much appreciated. Also if you do have a bracket, could you post your part numbers. Thanks!

I have one on my 2.3, but took it off because didn't see what the point was, then again it may be a cause to my leaking tee...

Anyways, the numbers on mine are as follows, not sure which you want.

1L5H-18D255AB
<PP - KD10>
C924A

I can check the old explorer we got for one if you really want, I'm only about an hour away.

Thanks, but I went ahead and order on and installed it. 7 bucks from dealer. The reason I wanted one was to position the heater control valve in a better position so that the plastic vacuum line wouldn't have to much stress on it. Already broke one.

Where did it break?

If you check my post I'm having an issue with it, I ordered a new Tee to be in tommarrow, but not sure if adding the bracket will make a difference as the lower part doesnt even have anthing holding it together.

I see you wanted to do a few swaps in your truck, any specific explored parts you might be looking for? I think they were talking about taking and crushing the explorer, 84 escort wagon, and the ol ford van. They might have someting in the explorer if you know what you want.

Also, I've never seen your truck around, you venture anywheres outside of K-Town? Like MoTown or Gatlinburg?

It broke right next to the rubber elbow that connects to the valve. Got the whole piece (with the other line that goes to the vacuum canister and the rubber grommet for the firewall) for 2 bucks at pull-apart.

I pretty much have everything I need. After I get my console, cruise, and seats working, I will try to do the message center and EATC (only parts I don't have).

I goto school in Knoxville, every now and then I go back home to Kingsport. Sometimes goto Gatlinburg. Most of my family is from Newport or White Pine. Know any Sheltons?

Okay, I figured I'd know that grille.

Sheltons? Hmmm, I know a Shaun and Leshea Shelton from CCHS, and a Michael Shelton from Cosby High, but that's all I can think off from the top of my head.

I drive the "poker ranger" lol, Not got any pictures small enough for the avatar yet though.

Anyways, was your Tee a two or four valve?

4 port

All my cousins are older than me. I'm 24. Most of them are 50. I'm the youngest of all my first cousins.

Haha, well that probably rules that out, I'll be 21 this month. You should come to the F-100 show next year in the Forge, it was a blast last year. I was only one of like four new rangers, but I loved the old classics as well.

Did it actually snap/break, or did the end just, like come off? The bottom tube that one of the hoses(towards the engine) comes right off, no threading or sealant to hold it together, doesn't mke sense.

The actual plastic grey line broke. The heater valve was originally facing down, so the line was wrapped over the top and laid on the heater hoses. I think the heat from the hoses eventually cause the line to be brittle and eventually broke. When that line brakes say goodbye to your MAX A/C. The vacuum leak causes your vents to switch to defrost and your outside air door doesn't close.

When is the show? I'll start making plans.

It'll be mid next year, like April or so, maybe March? Not sure if they set a for sure date yet. It's a three day deal usually, so if you can't make 'em all, one is still fun. Since I work in Gatlinburg I usually go all three days lol.

So the small thin hose broke? The one that runs from the small ball on the inside fender to the piece on the side of the valves? I re-routed mine the other day to prevent that, I didn't want it going too lol.

The one for the ball goes into a grommet through the firewall for your HVAC controls. Through that same grommet the heater control valve line comes out to the valve. You can see the grommet by lowering your glove box (push the sides in to lower it) and look to the back right.

I just checked, it's May 12-14 next year. :]

I wish I could've seen the other ranger (not f100 rangers) owners, would've been nice to see if they were locals or from one of the forums, ya know?

Hard to EVER find someone at their show car when you want lol

Closer to the time I may check in, I'm not hard to miss, the older folks called me the Dalmation/chic-Fil-A truck :[
