Default 2.3L with no power fixed

Since I bought this 93 2.3 5 spd XLT it has lacked power. I did all of the normal fixes, and everything helped a little but not enough. A week ago the timing belt broke on me and in the process of fixing this I discovered the reason for the lack of power. The large bolt on the crankshaft pulley hub was loose, the hub had rattled back and forth and wore out the keyway causing the crankshart sensor to be about 18 degrees late. After the repair it's like a new truck. I haven't checked the mileage yet but I can already tell by looking at the trip odometer and gas guage that there is an improvement.

It didn't throw a code that the timing was off ? My 2.3 don't have any power. I put new wires and plugs in it, because it said it had a #3 misfire. Did not fix it so I replaced 1 coil still had a misfire so I took the old coil, and replaced the other one. But still has #3 misfire I hate to buy another 70 dollar coil. I don't see both coils being bad on #3.

could a bad icm be causing the misfire?. change the fuel filter and add some Techron to the tank..maybe you got a sticky injector and it is good maintenance anyhow!!!!

I am a little confused about what you did with the coils. if you have one new one and it is still misfiring swap out the old ones?..you can test the coils for ressistance

My 2.3 has 2 coil packs 8 plugs. I went and got new coil pack today. Fixed the misfire I did not think 2 coils would be bad on the same cylinder. Still when u come to a stop. It will idle at 1,000 rpm then drop down 2 about 600 or 700 then start to idle bad. It has 2 new coils, wires, plugs, #3 injecter, fuel filter. And put injecter cleaner in the tank.

I just noticed the cold air intake. the k and n have the air filter that you oil. the oil can mess up the MAF. clean the maf as per insturctions on the MAF claener can $6.

after cleaning/replacing these items reboot the ecu( disconnect the battery for 15 minutes)

i had a very similar issue. ran fine, come to a stop, idle fine for a little then rpms would drop a little then stall. it was the intake gasket. $18 intake gasket set fixed the problem

Im having a similar problem, I replaced the timing belt about a year ago. now I'm sure I tightened that center bolt but mistakes do happen. Just the past few days I've picked up a noticable vibration, noise, loss of power. Upon inspection I found the crankshaft pulley was wobbling. Where did you find a replacement pulley for yours?
