The truck would not hit at all when I first got it so I gave it new plugs, cap, Rbutton, wires, oil, filters and cleaned the carb. It still would not hit even though it was getting fire at the plugs. I then gave it a new coil, and still nothing. Today I replaced the timing belt and got it to hit and half way run. The problem is the engine has a lot of blowback through the carb and through the oil cap on the valve cover. Quite a bit of smoke and pressure comes out of both. Think I have the timing wrong? I have the crank on
TDC, the cam mark is at 5:00 right on the factory mark, and the Rbutton Is sitting right on the #1 sparkplug wire. The firing order is wired at 1-3-4-2 clockwise on the cap. Its not a bad looking truck for an 87 and I figured the 2.0 would be easy on gas. Any help would be great. Thanks
