Default Intake Manifold runners...?

Dealer says mine may be failing and certainly causing an engine rattle (which I thought was a clutch noise). Says IMRC part is $1100.

Other forums indicate part is ~$125 and often is a just cracked hose to the IMRC.

I'll go back and ask the dealer what he really meant.

But just a quckie question what's connected to the IMRC that could be $1100 - even in Ford dealer dollars (dealer dollars are twice as expensive as regular dollars).

cheers

Do you have a code P1537 or 8?
I believe the intake manifold is connected to the IMRC's.
You better see if that's a part you can replace or if yuo have to buy a whole intake manifold. If you didn't actually hear a clatter you would check the wires and connectors.

But hell yeah identify and check that hose out first!

I don't know for sure if it's this hose that contributes to runner control or the year/engine of your truck, but it's often a hidden source of certain vacuum related problems.

Hoses are fine, checked them last night.
Went to a Autolite/Ford OEM with part numbers site to see a repair manual exploded view of the manifold with runners, actuator and IMRC valve. Interesting. The manifold parts are $250 -300+. Can't really tell from the web.
I'll see if I can stand on my head in the engine compartment this weekend and see if the actuator actually actuates and what is chattering/rattling.
Lotsa stuff about IMRC delete, all for hi-performance cars.
