Default Starting Problem

A couple of days ago when starting my Ranger, I had to try 2 times before it kept on running. Usually it starts on the first try. This morning when I started my Ranger, it would run a second or 2 then die. I tried starting about 10 times and would do the same thing. Then I waited a couple of minutes and tried starting it again and this time it kept on running. Is this a problem that anyone else has experienced?

Any hints as to what might be the problem?

sounds to me like its most likely a fuel pump. i'd start by checking the fuel pressure at the rail with a gauge.

Well I had the fuel pump replaced and now it is doing the same thing. Its taking longer to get started but eventually it will keep running and seems fine after that. When I start it the next day the same problem starts all over again. Now when it does stay running at idle and when I step on the accelerater it dies. Start it again and it idles but dies when I step on the accelerater again. So the fuel pump I think is ok.

Ok I think I know the problem. I started disconnecting electric connection to sensors. When I disconnected the mass air flow sensor then the engine excelerated with no problems. When I plugged it back in the engine seems sluggish. The sensor when disconnected runs very smooth and idles better. Any comments?
