2.3 turbo ranger

i was thinking about puttiing a turbo off of a 2,3 thunderbird turbocoupe on my 1997 2.3 i have easy access to the turbo but was wondering what kind of work and hassles i would be expecting also what kind of horsepower gain i would get, and the truck is running a 12.14 with a top speed of 56mph on the 1/8th mile drag what kind of improvements could i get there

as far as being able to tell you hassles, we'll need to know more info about your truck , like the year.

as far as 1/8th times, that depends on gearing, how much boost, ect.

you need to be careful putting a turbo on a stock motor. the turbocoupe motors have forged internals.

If you have access to the whole motor, my suggestion is to rebuild/hop up the turbo coupe motor and just swap it in. My buddy is a big rice guy and loves the turbos, well maybe not rice, hes into the eclipse awd turbo type car. Anyhow hes last car build he was getting like 400+ hp with that thing. So if you want to do it, go all the way and build that thing, make a sleeper! lol

drop the forged internals into your ranger's 2.3 and you're good to about 350hp at the wheels with the right upgrades. What year turbocoupe? different years had differnet turbos which would net you different amounts of hp.
