Stuck throttle at stop!!!(2000 2.5L)
Dangerous situation here. I put silicon spray on spring and down cable but did not do anything. The housing broke that hold the cable right before the two bolts that go into the manifold. I used some ties to hold it together. Do you think that this might be causing my problem or have you heard of other things that might cause it also. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Is your throttle on the idle stop on the throttle body with foot off the accelerator?

re: Stuck throttle at stop!!!(2000 2.5L)
I'm really not following your description at all here. All I can gather is "something" broke but I don't know what that something is. A picture would help in lieu of the actual part name. But lets think about this. A major component of the throttle control is broken and held together with zip ties. The throttle is not working properly. And you're asking if it might related to the major broken zip tired part?? Yeah, probably.
Take a picture and post it so we can see what is going on here.

Took the pictures but don't know how to ad them on. What is the process in doing this? I found add an image but shows I need a URL and don't know where to find the URL in my Documents or Easy Share Kodak pictures. Will a link do it. I'm just not sure. I tried to do a link on the word pictures and still asking for a url. Normally they show a browser box and you add the picture with the browser.

Just do it as an attachment. There is a button below labeled Manage Attachments.

You need to upload your pics on a blog or photo hosting site like photobucket. then to get your URL just right click on the pic, when the menu comes up hit "properties" that will give your URL, then copy and paste it between BB image tags, thats how I do it. good luck!

You can see a line of super glue just to the left of the screw. This is where the metal plate broke that holds the throttle cable in place. Picture kind of small to make it out. Hopefully you can see what I have here. Thanks!

The picture is so small, I can't see a thing.
Is there a reason you don't just replace the broken part? If you're having throttle problems and the throttle components are broken held together with zip ties and glue, I still don't understand why you're even questioning what the problem is.

re: Stuck throttle at stop!!!(2000 2.5L)
Reason I am questioning it is because I had timing belt plugs wires and water pump replaced. Before this it was broken but ran with no problem at all. I also put some fuel system cleaner in without the tank being completely fuel. This is what the mechainic told me to do. I am thinking that maybe the strong fuel system cleaner might have done something to the system to make it act as it is acting. I don't know but like I said it was running just fine before it was worked on.

Re: Stuck throttle at stop!!!(2000 2.5L)
None of that would have anything remotely to do with the problem.

Re: Stuck throttle at stop!!!(2000 2.5L)
So if I replace the broken part do you think this will fix the problem? If not whatelse would cause the throttle to reb up at a stop taking the broken part out of the picture. It rebs up just for about 5 to 10 seconds and then stops without me doing anything. I would think that if it were this broken repaired part that it would do it all the time.

Re: Stuck throttle at stop!!!(2000 2.5L)
I don't know. I don't even know what the broken part is since you haven't told us and the picture is to small to see with a microscope. But now that you've completely changed the description of the problem from your original post, it could also be a bad IAC. Cheap part, two bolts. Side of the throttle body with two wires going to it.
