Default 2.5 bolt on mods

sure this is an old deal guys, i'm not looking for a stump puller , turbo monster, just a little help for the motor..
please asvise on the following items;
1) direct replacement cat-system ( california legal )
2) cat back exhaust
3) performance chip
4) performance ignition upgrade ( calif legal )
the truck has a stock trans (5 spd ) , 3.73 gear, and 15x7 wheels w/31x9.5 tires, camberg front suspension & 2' rear blocks
hey guys i an't a rich kid, so a good item will do.. like i said just want to help her out a little. dont need a load of hp gain, just a little help !

I am curious to see what people come up with, I've got the same setup and its gutless. I don't really care, my car is for speed, but if someone has a good and cheap mod, I'll jump on it. I don't think a CBE would help much though, just adds sound.

It all depends if you havs emission laws or not in your state. If not there is alot you can do from the head up

catback exhaust is the "best bolt on mod" but still wont do much
if you have 31" tires you might wont some steeper gears
a performance cam and port and polishing the head is the best way to go w/o using a power adder

header off a 97 with new exhaust, ram-air intake, 50 shot, gears, lighten her up, cam, PP.....
