from what i have read my 94 4 cyl 2wd 5 speed has a 3.08 axle ratio. Is there a rear end i could swap in for lower gearing for some more grunt? something that came factory that i could just throw under my truck?

im runnging 4;56 in my rig

Just a slightly modified ford ranger

most newer 4cyl trucks come with 4.10s stock

find one at a JY and it will bolt right up....

or look up the different axle codes if you have a variety of trucks to choose from
but any ranger axle should bolt right up...its just a matter of what ratio youre looking for

A 3.73:1 would probably serve you best and not give a big penalty on mpg but a 4.10:1 would give you the most grunt. Like stated above, a junk yard would be the cheapest option. Expect somthing on the order of $300 - $400 bucks for one.
