Default sender/sensor in htr hose?

On my 94 2wd 5 spd, there is a Tee fitting with a sensor/sender in one of the heater hoses. That surely isn't the sender for the heat gauge inside is it?

No the sensor for the gauge is on the block just above the oil filter. I have to change mine too and don't feel like crawling under the truck and eat dirt.

I believe that one is for the computer to determine engine temp for injectors etc.

Did a thermostat change this weekend and the result was bypassing this t as it was corroded. Put a hose repair kit in as a workaround and will replace with the new t. Appreciate suggestions on parts sourcing. Thanks

Engine coolant temperature sender is on the intake manifold above left of oil filter with 2 wires light green/red and gray/red.
Water temperature gauge is on the block above the oil filter and near the back of the block with only one wire can't tell you the color.

Is the thermostat in my 94 ranger 4cyl still in the same place? At the engine end of the top hose by the timing belt cover? Ya never know on some of this newer stuff.

I used to own an auto repair an tow service in my younger days an worked on several little rangers. I retired an quit the garage biz around 1988, stuff was getting to complicated to mess with, an I was to old to spend the big $ for all of the diagnostic stuff back then.
