1996 ranger 2.3 manual trans a/c issue
Hello everyone this is my first post on here. I bought this pickup a few weeks ago that needed a clutch got a good deal on it being that it was not running and driving. Anyways put new clutch, slave cylinder, flywheel, pilot bearing and throw out bearing and new fluid and it's good to go. Now I'm going through some other things on the truck here and there to get in
Good working order.
First thing Im starting with is the a/c it's hotter than heck out here in Georgia lol. Anyways a/c wasn't working so I added a 12 oz can of 134, clutch turned on and was blowing cold in the cab at idle. I'm having an issue at higher rpms during shifting the clutch is turning on and off and kinda making a jerking feeling while accelerating. Also in 5th gear at highway speeds the compressor clutch goes in and out often and I can fell the air getting warm, also appears the temp gauge is running hotter than normal while ac is running at highway speeds.
Just looking for some assurance as to where to start. I'm guessing that the pressure is building up to high in the ac lines making the high pressure switch activate which is shutting off my compressor.
Do you think it would be a good idea to start with a new accumulater and orifice tube and a system flush, put a vaccum and recharge the system? Curious what y'all's thoughts on this are?
