Default Will it work?

I have a 98 ranger with a 2.3 that is tied up. This is a 5 speed truck also. I found a guy that has a 2.3 out of a 97 ranger with all the clutch plates ect for $300. The motor has 50k miles on it. Will that motor go into my 98 with out having to modify any thing? does the price seem right?

Did you mean a 2.5L and installing a 2.3L? My '98 has a 2.5L.

the 2.5 and the 97 and older 2.3 were basically the same engine.
