I have a major oil leak coming from what looks like behind the engine. I have checked the oil pan and it doesn't look to be coming from there. It all started when I parked one day after a half hour regular drive. I went in the house for 5 minutes and when I came out, I see a steady stream of oil pouring out and a huge puddle under the truck. I would say I leaked a good quart or so.
After talking with a guy at work, he said it could be a seal on the oil pressure gauge? I don't think I can see that far behind the engine.
Any ideas?
If you have the 2.5L engine, there is a sensor at the back of the engine near the top of the head. Maybe it worked itself loose from vibration.
Otherwise the only thing I can think of would be the head gasket, though if that went you would be getting coolant too I would think.
Your valve cover gasket could be leaking as well but I don't think that kind of oil leakage would come from that.

its a 92 so it would be a 2.3l i know that my 2.9l had a hell of a valve cover gasket leak and oil was everywhere but i fixed that for real cheap and even painted them ford blue while they where off haha
