Hey guys I'm rebuilding my 2.5 and wanted to add more HP without a turbo, and I was wondering what can would work best how many hp it would add and if someone could put a link for it? Also preformance chips? If anyone knows anything on this I appreciate the help

Personally I have no idea if there even ARE performance cams available for the 2.5. Personally I didn't think they made it much beyond 2000. I could be wrong. Decent engine, but you will never make it a race engine. You could also throw in some higher compression pistons too.

As for 'performance chips' they don't exist. There isn't a 'chip' that you can replace with a performance one. All those performance chips do is lighten your wallet. You CAN bye a tuner such as SCT tuner and put tunes in yourself, or a better option is to work with someone reputable to do it for like Lasota Racing.

You want the truck to go faster, drop a 5.0 from an Explorer...

Check with Racer Walsh and Esslinger Performance(?) for cams. They have solid lifter cams that may work... but you may have to give up OBD-II & EFI. They are more racing oriented, so street may not be on the menu.
Only thing beyond dropping in a larger engine would be turbo or supercharger. Former from a Turbo T-bird can be made to work.. again w/o OBD-II and needing a lot of wiring & plumbing. Best to have a donor sitting alongside...

Thanks I'll check them out!! I'm not wanting to much power I know these engines come stock with 119 horsepower and was wondering if I could get it up to about 200 without a turbo/supercharger

200hp from a NA 2 valve 2.5L 4cyl? I'm sure it could be done but there won't be many stock parts left.

I know, I kinda figured there wouldn't be, but what parts would be necessary to achieve that?
