Default Where is iat?

Hi guys

Need to replace the Intake Air Temperature sensor on my 2002 Ranger 2.3l engine.

I looked on line for a hint where it might be located, but it aint where they say it is.

Its not in air cleaner box or air duct. I know it must be on intake manifold but hoping I dont have to remove manifold to get at it.

The images on web are terrible. You cant see on most pics or I cant.

Any hints on where it would be located would be much appreciated

Dennis

There aint one. Well not as an individual sensor, it's integrated into the MAF sensor.

Don't take my word for it... straight from the Ford service manual.

There is still separate codes for the IAT. Clean the maf and reset the code.

If for some odd reason you have an older style MAF sensor then the IAT is on the intake tube. Snap a pic of the front of your engine.

Dirtman

It finally warmed up enough to take a good look at the :mystery sensor"
Have to apologize, you were correct the first time. It is combined with MAF sensor. Anyway I tried cleaning it resetting, but I didnt like the way it sounded..I had one from a couple yrs ago. I cleaned that one and installed it. Have bout 30 miles so far,no lite. At least I know it goes on again just have to replace MAF AGAIN!

Thanks for your help with this

Dennis
