i didn't exactly delete mine, but my egr system wasn't working for 5 years lol, truck ran great though.
if you do block it off, you'll still get an insufficient egr flow code...not sure if that matters to you.

Im going to attempt to fix mine first. I ordered a new dpfe hopefully that fixes it. Part was only 15 bucks. I know the egr is good because i plugged the vent for egr system and it cause my truck to almost die so egr valve must be be working.

best of luck! fyi, sometimes those hoses tear when pulling them off. i highly recommend those silicon-ish looking ones that rock auto sells, they seem to stay pliable

oh, would you mind posting the exact egr codes that popped up? there's a chance that it's just the pigtail that's either shorting or open inside of it, which would give you a circuit high/low code iirc. of course you can always put a voltmeter in there and measure for ground & ref for grinsies. & return signal if you want to back probe

yes, well technically it would be testing for voltage at the connector with it unplugged. i believe the outside pins are ground & reference (5V), and the middle one is the return signal. so you could test for continuity on the ground and test for 5V to ground on the reference pin...
...Then if you want to get snazzy, you can plug in the connector and back probe the signal return wire with the connector plugged in. it would take some wicked googling, but there's definite expected voltages to be returned. i thing at idle, meaning that the valve is closed and there's no egr flow, then the return signal would be like, say, 1V. It gets a bit harder to test for the rest of the range, since you gotta let the egr valve open to get some flow, which shoudl increase the return signal voltage form the DFFE.

----------

oh, P0401 and P0402, insufficient and excessive egr flow detected... since you already have the new DPFE on the way, hopefully the old one is just sending unexpected signals back to the computer, and all will be well when you install the new one.
Else, have you messed with the EGR solenoid that sends vacuum to the EGR valve? it's the next thing upstream to take a looksie at.

No misfire idles perfect, idles up on cold starts and when ac compressor kicks ok. Thanks for all the help! Unfortunately im having trans issues now
