Default Idles great, dies when I press the gas

I have a 93 ranger, 4cyl manual transmission. I was having issues with a slow crank, took it into the dealership and they replaced the ignition control module and one of the coil packs. It no longer has the slow crank issue but now it will idle beautifully but die the moment I push on the gas peddle. The tech at the dealership has no idea what's wrong with it so it's still sitting in their lot, he said he will keep looking into it. Anyone have any idea what it could be? I don't want to keep throwing new parts at it that don't fix the problem. Thanks all!

Two things pop up w/o much thought: If it has a MAF, check the MAF wires for 'stuff' and check the fuel pressure and delivered volume.
When you open the throttle, the TPS(could also check that ... if it was 'bad' at the start of its movement... the computer would not know the throttle was opened... and the engine would stall because no more fuel was being added than the 'idle' volume, yet the air flow just increased a LOT).
Now that mind has perked a bit, check the TPS first. You can do so using a VOM to measure resistance as the stub is rotated. Look for 'fallout' where the resistance goes to infinity(wide open - a LOT of resistance) partway through the sweep.

Thanks for the reply. My thought after doing some googling was a bad fuel pump, the only problem is it was working just fine before the icm and coil pack we're replaced.
Another thought I had but don't know enough about: I have an aftermarket tach wired into the tach wire off of the icm, if that wire was broke off when the module was replace could that cause a problem? Like the computer no longer getting an rpm reading and killing the engine? Again I don't know enough about how the computer works to know if that even makes sense.

Aftermarket tach wire breaking off should affect nothing, unless the ICM wire was touching voltage or ground. Left 'floating' it should do nothing. Grounded or with volts applied, who knows.
You can disconnect the IAC and hold the throttle open a bit by the gas pedal to check to see if it is causing the engine to stop. Same with the TPS, just step on the gas a bit to bump the idle manually.

Thanks for the replies. The truck is still at the dealerships mechanic I'll probably stop by today or tomorrow to see if they've figured it out. The tech working on it had no idea what it could be so maybe this will help
