So my Ford rangers check engine light came on and I had it taken to autozone to be diagnosed and the error code P1537 and the most likely problem was the vacuum hose going to the intake manifold. I then consulted a local mechanic and he also said the same thing he pointed out to me this hose that he said he believes to be bad. He said its extremely soft and there was a hole in it. He said if my hands were small enough i can slip a new one into place but if not I would have to take off the intake manifold. My biggest concern is I cant even find the part he said that that specific hose is specific to my engine and model of ranger and that I should try to get one directly from ford. I just have no idea the terminology to search for. I searched Intake manifold vacuum hose and have not been able to yield any results. I also have been looking at the manifold and engine diagrams for ford rangers and still cannot figure it out. Would i have to contact ford to get this part? Where does the hose connect or where does it end? It is this a good idea to replace on my own?
Any help is appreciated!
