i'm sorry, i wish i knew of some other forums.
BUT, vgt turbo systems all typically use MAP (manifold absolute pressure sensor) and EBP (exhause back pressure sensor) signals. though, some don't use the EBP. I'm sure there's a MAP though, and usually they are on the intake manifold, and they're connected to it by a little hose. if hte hose has a crack or hole, then you'll get symptoms like this.
...if you have a MAF (mass air flow sensor), EBP (exhaust back pressure sensor), and/or IAT (intake air temperature), then all of them could be suspect as well. cleaning the sensors with an appropriate cleaner spray is always recommended anyway.
I hope this can get you started. turbo diesels are cool once you get to know your particular engine!

also, you'll want an on board diagnostics scanner or monitor to view engine data with if you plan on doing a lot of work yourself. i can't imagine working on a newer computerized diesel without one!
