Re: p0443 and misfires
Ummh. no.
Po443 is a purge valve control problem -shorted wire or bad solenoid or ???
It will NOT cause misfire, unless you have a vacuum leak due to a loose or broken vacuum line, or you are dumping raw fuel into the intake(sucked from the tank via the vapor lines?)
Have you checked spark plug condition? Are they old and worn out? Do you have good ground to the engine/vehicle/cab/etc? Are the injectors working properly?
The computer just provides a good ground to the previous, causing power to flow, and activate the coils in the injectors and COPs. Bad ground... no worky. OTOH, bad power, same thing.
Ignore the P0443. Next time, cut and paste what it means as I for one have not memorized what they are to be able to think on what may cause the problem.
From the goog:
P0443 is an OBD-II generic code that the engine control module (ECM) has detected a malfunction with the purge control valve or its control circuit.
... The ECM has commanded the purge control valve to open and detected either an incomplete open circuit or a short in the circuit.
