As far as the noise he noted to me after having the repairs done was AC comp clutch making noise metal rubbing metal but not rubbing while AC. Is on. I told him it wasnt making that noise before i brought it in...853$ parts 563$ labor also he installed new thermostat housing thing.

Good on you... otherwise many of the S/N who responded to your post are a wealth of information should you start to learn how to become self sufficient in your own manner.

If you don't want to get ripped off in life learn how to do stuff yourself
i had no time to replace that hose assembly. i was looking at it and i was thinking that the trans has to come out, i went to the ford dealer, they said that it has to come out. i took pickup to a shop and he did not want to do the job, i said that you have to take out the trans. he did it for 500 bucks. i think the hose assembly cost 125 bucks. the thermostat is not cheep , i think i payed 100 bucks or so

Having done coolant lines on a 2.3 duratec I can assure you it is not an easy job. One hose requires removing the upper and lower intake or the inner fender. Another requires pulling the transmission. That kinda stuff really racks up the labor cost....

Hopefully he actually replaced them all. Including the ones that are difficult to get to and visually verify they are new.
