You probably mean camshaft position sensor and yes, it does have one.

I'm not clearly able to understand what you wrote, might be caused by the lack of punctuation. Let's try this for a reply......

Notes:

*2010 2.3L engine has a cam position sensor

*1997 3.0L engine has a cam position sensor.

*They are not installed the same way on both engines.

*The reason each of these engines needs and thus has a cam position sensor is identical.

From what I understand, there is but one sensor. It indicates the position of the cam, which in turn indicates where #1 cylinder is in its cycle. It is used to let the computer know that #1 is on compression, for example and to indicate that it (the ECM) should give real thought to squirting in some fuel on the next downstroke of the piston after this one.
IOW, it is for the sequential fuel injectors to 'get it right' and only spritz when the intake valve is about to open. More or less.
It must be connected to the valve timing mechanism. It may be on the top of the cam cover, pointing at one of the cams which may conveniently have a 'bump' or 'pointer' that travels past the sensor once every two cycles of the piston. I do not have one to be able to give you a picture.
From what I saw on the web(little) it would appear a the rear end of the cam cover, poked in from the top. I may be mistaken.

If your 2.3 is similar to my 2002 the sensor should be located in the valve cover near number 4 cylinder closer to the drivers side.

The PCV valve is located on the oil separator below the intake in the center of the block.

If you ever need to replace the valve cover gasket or intake would be a good time to change it.

Again I do not know if yours is similar to the 2002 or not.

No, there is no camshaft synchronizer on these 2.3L Duratec engines.

For that function the ECU uses a Camshaft sensor and Crankshaft sensor instead.

The camshaft sensor is located at the back of the valve cover held on by a single bolt.

Or, pretty much what everybody else said already.
