I have a 1994 Ford Ranger 2.3 8 plug engine wit 211000 miles. It started running kind of funny the other day so I pulled the air cleaner hose of the throttle body and sprayed some throttle body cleaner in it . When I put the hose back on and started it it was flooded of course. When it did start it ran better but now it has a funny sounding ticking noise coming from the throttle body area. any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

In the old days of fuel injection part of a good tune up was to clean the throttle body and Idle air controller motor.

however your throttle body like many others has or used to have a sticker on it warning you not to clean it.

The manual has this to say about cleaning throttle bodies.

A sealant/coating on the throttle bore and throttle plate makes the throttle body air flow tolerant to engine intake sludge accumulation. These throttle body assemblies MUST NOT BE CLEANED and have a white/black attention decal (Figure 116) advising not to clean.

This being said now that you have cleaned it.
It is possible the computer needs to relearn the idle.
