Default 2002 2.3 heater control vacuum line

The vacuum line attached to the heater control valve broke and basically crumbled into sand in my hand. I can't find any diagrams or search results for diagrams of the vacuum lines related to HVAC. Unless somebody can find a good reason to keep the control valve, I would like to just delete it and plug the vacuum line except I have no idea where the origin of the vacuum line is. Either way, I need the origin of the heater control vacuum line to fix/replace or plug. Thanks.

I'll have to go take a look here in a few hours but off the top of my head I think it runs to a ball shaped vacuum reservoir that sits under the degas/coolant bottle or windshield wiper fluid bottle.

here is the vacuum diagram for the HVAC for a 2002 2.3

The line comes from the HVAC control panel then gets split to the heater control valve and the re circulation air duct door control.

these are number 9 and 15 in the diagram.

I will post pictures of my 2002 in a few minutes.

hopefully the pictures I will post will show you where the line penetrates the fire wall

Update

the line is run just under the evaporator core case- blower motor housing

If you cannot see this line it may be broken off flush with the firewall, if that is the case you can gain access to it from inside the cab behind the glove box.

If the line is intact inside the cab, you can use a plastic vacuum connector, either straight line or a Tee inside to connect to the remaining good line that snakes up to the control, leaving the line to the control alone. Might save a chunk of time by splicing rather than running a complete new line. I think the HELP section will have an assortment of vacuum fittings.
