Exclamation 98 2.5L - Can a 3.0L IAC Valve work?

So I'll start by putting my problem on here, before getting into the main issue of the thread. Also, I'm very new at working on vehicles and am slowly learning my way through it from the forums and other people.

For the past few months, I've been having issues with my 98 2.5 (standard) shaking and stalling when coming to stops. I've tried many different treatments, but none have fixed the issue. I've replaced the plugs and wires, fuel filter, an o2 sensor that was out, cleaned the MAF and IAC, and replaced the cylinder 1 fuel injector.

After recently doing work on the plugs and wires, my dad and I thought that it seemed to be idling low. It would idle fine at start up, but when it started to idle down, it would go into a bad misfire and shaking. Even though I had cleaned the IAC recently, the gasket on it was in horrible shape so I thought I'd go ahead and just replace it since the part is around $30.

On Partsgeek, I was looking at the Hitachi to fit the 2.5L but couldn't order it at that specific time. I came back to order it on a different day and accidently ordered the same version but for the 3.0L. I didn't notice this until after installed and noticed that the electric port on it faced the wrong way (down instead of toward the firewall), but my connector is long enough to stretch to that position anyway (though a little tight). I decided to get back online and look to see why it would be positioned that way and noticed I had ordered the wrong one.

I drove it around and the idle is at a good spot now, even though it still shakes when coming to a stop. I haven't had it stall yet (just installed today), but I'm wanting to make sure there won't be any damage by leaving it on. If so, I'll just put the old one back on and have to bit the bullet by ordering the correct part.

I don't know if the parts are interchangeable but I would say don't use the 3.0 iac. I mean it's not for your engine and the part you need isn't expensive to buy. Honestly this is a pretty dumb question. Use the parts designed for your engine.
