Default Sputtering

Have a 01 ranger with the 2.3 L 4 banger with 30 inch tires and no mater what gear I am in up to 2 rpm it just sputters and I feel like there is no power in my rig. Could that be because of the oversized tires and because there's not much power in the engine or maybe because something is clogged up? Anything helps

30 inch tires won't do it. It's probably a spark issue or a fuel delivery issue.

When was the last time you changed your plugs/wires/and coil pack?

And how many miles are on the truck?

How about coil pack?

215 is pushing it for a coil pack. They can go bad as quick as plugs do.

Mine gave up on me at 145,000 I think. Feels like a misfire but I had brand new plugs from 1,000 miles prior. I bought a new Motorcraft unit online for $58.

First I would unplug it and inspect it for cracks. That's how mine went out.

Get an OBD2 system and see what the computer is telling you.

+1

In theory a CEL should pop for Long Term Fuel Trim (lean) in this case, but on other cars Ive noticed this doesnt always seem to happen. I notice in another thread you mention a crossthreaded spark plug, so youll want to rectify that to be sure (in case its compression related).
