Default Line Near Bell Housing Leaking Coolant

Near the bell housing, just kinda upward and forward from where the fuel lines come down and the slave cylinder line goes on, there is a 3/8 metal hose of some sort that goes into a 6" 3/8 rubber hose and then goes on to the block. I'm unable to trace this metal line up as it disappears between the firewall and intake manifold but right in the elbow/bend it is leaking and it needs to be replaced. Does anyone know what this line may be so I can locate the other end and I'll know what to ask for when trying to find a replacement? I'm stumped.

If it helps at all, the rubber end of the 6" section goes into the block right above the oil filter.

Go to your local Ford dealers parts department. If they are feeling generous, they will/can print out an image of the complete cooling system for you. It will show all the components that are installed, and you can either buy the part(s) from them, or use the picture to find them from other sources. In most cases, the 'base' part number is shown on the diagram, which is then added to for individual years and models. Searching for the base numbers may get you more pictures on web sites.

Try looking up the part on www.fordparts.com

Maybe it's in this parts diagram: (8597 water by-pass hose?)
