tomw0 the codes are always the same miss fire one 1 and 2. Hesitation clears up between 1800 and 2400 rpms, this happens warm or cold, and my or my not stall out when you come to a stop warm or cold. the weather is wet today so no chance to get to it. Have a great day and thanks again.

Thanks to all who posted to this thread.
2010 4 cyl. manual trans
I started having a miss under load that was getting worse, no check engine light. So I put in a can of sea foam and took her for a ride, an agressive ride. The miss got worse and a check engine light came on. off to auto zone for a code check and PO301 came up which is a misfire in cyl. 1 and a long list of probable causes. On of the posts here said to try the coil pack first as it was most likly and not that costly. Thank you rockauto.com for a motorcraft coil at $54 compared to the local parts store of $90 something. Coil pack arrived in 3 days from ordering and I immediately installed. Whaa Whoo problem solved. I also have motorcraft wires and double platinum plugs to be put in. I will post everything else i have done maintenance wise on what have you do to your ranger today. A heartfelt thank you to this list and all who partake.

Well I am back. now that the Christmas rush is behind use I can get back to the problem at hand. Bruce congrats. In the meantime I was checking various components under the hood today and a general look over. I sound like my wife giving a long story for a short question. The dpfe voltage for the upper wire back pinned with KOEO is 2.14 volts every where I look on the net for a ranger (mazda) says it should be around .25 would that have any thing to do with my problem. supply voltage was 4.79 and ground was good.

----------

there is no dpfe code being sent
