I think I would check the lip of the degas bottle, and the underside of the bottle cap for any irregularities. The 'seam' where the blow mold fits together when the bottle is made might need to be addressed, with a slight flash allowing leakage/seepage. It should hold pressure.
The temps seem in line with the reported temps in the previous posts given you have the 'electrically assisted' thermostat. The design runs it 'hot' and within a small window of operating temps.
I do not think you have a problem, except for a possible flaw at the degas bottle lip or the cap.

Default Re: Duratec cooling mods -- Need to clear CEL

If anyone makes it to the end of this very brainy thread, I just want to say thanks to all of the contributors and add my two bits. First for Google Purposes only: 2002 2003 2004 Ford Ranger 2.3L thermostat mod swap delete.
I used the Napa Balkamp BPWC-21W-N resistor previously mentioned and a 2006 thermostat. To enable the mod to be reversible, I needed the male connector integrated into the thermostat housing. I removed the male connector from my old thermostat housing (remove the clip and just pull on the connector), cut the wires as close as possible to the thermostat, and soldered the wires to my new resistor jumper harness. My homemade harness was fully heat-shrunk, taped, and loomed and about 6” long. I had a flat, plumbers tape type, flat bracket about 2” wide left over from an ac condenser install. I pop-riveted the resistor on one side and the other I drilled a single hole and bolted on top of the shock. That may not be the most vibration resistant location, but it was easy and I didn’t have to worry about the resistor melting anything. In conjunction with my IMRC delete, my gas mileage jumped from 24 to 27 MPG. Thanks again and hope this helps someone else.
