I ordered a new icm to go on my truck but I don't know where it's located it obviously has one or they wouldn't of sold me the part it's 2.3 5 speed

According to all data its integrated with the PCM in a 96. And to replace it you have to replace the computer. But in the chance that it's wrong look in the coil area. You may find something

Your 96 is obd2 it does not have an ignition control module. Just because they sold it to you it doesn't mean you have one.

On the 2.3 it is between the power steering pump and engine block held in place by two bolts. It's a very easy job when you find it.
