Default Engine Swaps?

This truck has some serious sentimental value to me, so there's no way I'm ever selling or getting rid of it. So I'm thinking to upgrade a while down the rode, I could swap in another engine. For me, the 4-cyl's just doesn't enough balls for me. Looking to swap in at least a 6 cyl, but would happily go 8 if I can find one that fits. Anybody have any suggestions as to which I could or should go with? The more horse and torque, the better.

You would need to swap everthing over and you would not be gaining allot.

It would be more worth it and MUCH more cost effective to just turbo the 4 banger. Unless you feel like swapping engine, trans, drive shaft, axels, etc...plus custom work
