Personally I wouldn't do seafoam, it sounds really violent for the truck. Some simple injector cleaner in the gas tank will be plenty to clean it out.

IIRC the EGR valve is in the back of the engine bay just under the manifold. Not worth my time digging down in there. Also these valves are rated for never having to be replaced so unless you have 250,000 miles it's not necessary.

Think: my truck is exactly the same as yours physically but 2 years newer and I have 30,000 miles more than you. And my truck runs amazing.

I think you're just overthinking it too much, if I drive like an ass then I'll see 15 mpg easy. If I drive slow then I'll see 25+ on the highway.

Also depends on your axle ratio for 31's.

However, the spark plugs, MAF and IAC and some injector cleaner with all new filters is about the best you can do.

The EGR valve is on the very back of the engine on the driver's side. You can't reliably get to it without removing the transmission, at the very least. It ain't worth it, man. Plus, it's an electronic stepper-motor EGR. I'd write that off as far more reliable than your standard EGR system. If it's not specifically causing problems, don't bother with it. Oh, and as an added bonus, it's installed in a coolant path. If you remove it, you're going to dump coolant everywhere.

Seafoam works really well. You can dump it in through the brake booster line, but you'll need someone keeping the gas pedal depressed ever so slightly, as that's a major vacuum leak. There's a Seafoam spray out there now, so you can fire that directly into the throttle body instead. Give that a shot.

Lastly, on your next refill, I'd recommend filling the tank with the highest-octane premium gas you can find. Shell Vpower or something. You won't get any benefit from the higher octane, but the additional detergents and stuff will help clean out your injectors and combustion chambers. The cost difference should be cheaper than a bottle of Techron or Gumout. And personally, I think this method works a lot better. You only need to do that once though. Next refill after that, go back to the regular stuff.
