1996 ranger. Parts shopping question

Old: Well I got a new project. A 1996 ranger with a 4 cylinder, manual, standard cab with a flareside bed. All I know is that the engine overheated and started spewing coolant so I have to figure out if I am replacing head gasket, head, engine or something simpler. It has no compression so I am gonna replace the head gasket.
