Default 4 cyl big tires?

I'm looking into buying a 2002-2006 regular cab 2wd auto 4 cyl and I want to lift it and put 33/12.50r15 boggers on there with a locker. Now the questions I have are.

What year would you prefer?
What gear ratio should I need to be able to sling mud?
How bad will this mess with my mpg?
What would be my top speed if I regear with these tires?
Thanks guys

throw the last 2 questions out the window. If those worry you then you have no business doing that. As far as the years they are all the same aside from a few minor cosmetic changes.

5:56 at least, but at the speed limit the tach would be at 7500.

The minimum you would need would be 4:56 gears to turn those tires

OK so 4.56 will I be able to run 55 without running like 4k rpm? And the whole point of me choosing a 4 cyl is because I figured I'd get better gas mileage than I would with a 3.0 or 4.0

Mine runs 32s just fine with 4.10s
I think 33s would be the max with these gears before going to 4.56 or something. As for powerloss I didn't notice any and can go the same speeds ad before. I get about 20-23 mpgs still.

Awesome man thanks that's what I wanted to hear.someone who has actually done it do you ever go in the mud? How does the 2.3 hold up turning your tires in mud?

If you want to do all that work why not get a 4.0? I know you said you are wanting better mileage it after all that work I don't think there will be much difference,
