The '11 fixed pretty much every issue that the previous years suffered from. I think that's when Ford finally managed to undo all of the bad decisions that Mazda made when they originally built that engine ten years before. Just keep up with the regular oil changes and stuff, and keep in mind that a good chunk of your engine is plastic. That stuff will get brittle over time, especially if it gets too hot too many times.

The only thing I have seen common of all Rangers is ball joint replacement. My uppers went at 50k and my lowers went at 100k.

Your millage may vary. But when you do get the pop in the front when going over bumps or the bed spring squeak get MOOG upper control arms and MOOG lower ball joints problem solver series with grease fittings.

50k and 100k......you must be very rough on your truck. When I sold my 07 supercab the steering was tight as a drum after 95,000 miles.

I am unaware of any problems that tend to happen with late model Rangers other than the problems the owners cause ....like rolling over. LOL

Both of my outer tie rod ends went out at about 100k, but the ball joints are all rock solid. Then again, I haven't touched them since I got the truck (it had 70k miles at the time), and I just recently noticed the lower joints are both MOOG. I'm guessing they were replaced before it was sold, so I have no way of knowing if it was preventative or necessary (the previous owner quite obviously took good care of this thing).
