Increase HP and Proformance for 2000 Ranger 4 cylinder 2.5ltr
Hello all I currently have a 2000 4 cylinder 2 5 liter. I wanted to know if any one had any suggestions on how I can increase horse power and Proformance. I've seen chips but I do not know much about them or if they are worth the money. Thank you in advance for your help.

nothing really you can do to see any noticable gains without spending some cash

Maybe I should be more specific currently it is said to have 119 HP looking to gain another 30 to 40 HP

30-40 horsepower is will cost you about 2000 dollars because you will need a turbo with a manifold, forged pistons, and then you have to have a tune.

I was afraid that was the case... If I upgrade the engine to a 4.0 VA would I :
A. Have to chan the transmission
B. What else would I need to change

A.yes and you would have to find a 2wd trans
B. wiring harness and PCM

If money isn't a concern, buy a 2015 F150 Ecoboost.
