Default 2.3 to 4.0 swap

I found a 4.0 engine from a Ranger (Unsure of what year) I was wondering what I would need to do to swap out my 2.3 with this 4.0 in my 1997 Ranger.

I don't know much about engine swaps, but I think that seeing as it's a Ranger engine it should slide right in. I asked about a 3.0 to 5.0 swap once, and they told me the Explorer engine would slide in.

engine engine mounts transmission PCM ecu fuel pump rear end and wiring. Why don't you turbo your 2.3?

I actually never thought about that, how much would that cost to do? I'm just looking for more power because I'm pushing 31's in my old tired 2.3 and it doesnt like it haha

look in to it. I heard the 2.3 engines are good up to 400 horsepower if built right. You can turbo it to 5-6 psi stock internals but once you get forged pistons you can go pretty far

The svo ran at 15psi. The 2.3 Lima has the same crank and stuff as an svo. The svo has forged pistons. You build the motor and port and polish the head it will make some power and probably be good for around 20psi. I'm wanting to build mine but in wanting to keep auto and my lift and stuff. The 2.3s are great motors. Just need a little forced induction help.
