Default 1996 Hesitation and sometimes dies...

Hey all, this is my first post. I have a 1996 Ranger with 297,xxx miles on the body. I'm not sure if its the original engine or tranny. I am the 2nd owner of this truck. The symptoms are that the truck hesitates a little and sometimes dies when I gas it quickly from idle, if I gas it slowly its fine. And power seems to be somewhat of an issue in the low RPM range. Mid to high RPM range the truck is completely fine. I don't get a check engine light at all, and have given this truck a bunch or new parts. I did the timing, replaced gaskets, hoses, belt, spark plugs, wires, filters and cleaned up a lot of the intake parts.

Other than the low RPM hesitation, the truck is fine. It just bothers me that it's not 100% since I've put a lot of time to preventative and care maintenance.

I also noticed before i was cleaning it up that there was some "blowback??" (oil in intake and vacuum hoses). What is that normally a sign of? Any help is highly appreciated.

And to add, I know for a fact that there is not a vacuum leak. I checked everywhere.

Did you change the fuel filter? the air filter? pcv valve?......did you clean the TB, the maf and the iacv? what plugs and wires did you use...... was the hesitation there before you changed the plugs and wires

The hesitation actually was there to begin with. I checked over the firing order to find that the 1-2 exhaust side were crossed. It doesn't hesitate, as much, and doesn't die, and i got back the low end power.

Now that i've been running it, the CEL came on. The code was for EVAP emissions purge valve fault, and EGR insufficient flow. I checked the vacuum hose that goes to the EGR diaphragm to find that there isn't any vacuum making it to the EGR valve, at any RPM range. It kind of pulses. Vacuum is making to the solenoid though. If i replace the solenoid and vacuum still doesn't go to the EGR valve, would it be anything else?

The code from my reader and my friends Snap-on Solus was "P0443 EVAP Purge Valve Circuit Fault"

I tested mine with ohm meter came out non-continuous and should function under certain RPM ranges and does not. I'm going to the store to pick this one up, hopefully it helps my CEL. xD

This would explain partially why it hesitates a little, doesn't pull vapors from canisters, and has to wait for injectors for supply gas, when fuel vapors should already be supplied to the intake by this valve.
