Greetings Fellas, My 97 Ranger had 2 codes, P0171 & P1443, EGR Solenoid fixed the P0171, EVAP Cannister, EVAP Purge valve & Sensor fixed the P1443. I have no codes now and the truck runs fine except when I have the AC on, it has a high idle problem with AC on. Coming up to a red light or stop sign it will high idle for just a little till the truck comes to a complete stop, then it will idle down, IAC maybe? or Relay? Help....... thanks, Steve

Yes clean the IAC. Also reset the ECU. Might help the truck relearn the sensors faster.

Thanks Vrod, I'll try that tomorrow, all i was able to do to it today was oil change and replace the timing belt, then my employer sent me out of town. Steve

Ok, I removed the IAC, gave it a good cleaning, reset the ECU, truck still does the same thing......any other idea's guy's? Steve

Fixed it finally!! Changed out the IAC, put on a new Motorcraft part and she is doing fine, only question I have now is what is wrong with the old one, Ford spec says between 4 - 10 ohms using multi tester across the IAC's 2 connectors and it is within their spec, anyway problem solved

Just because the motor in the IAC isn't failed doesn't mean the rest of it isn't busted
