Put in the thunderbird rods and pistons and bolt the stuff up and you can make ~200hp . Not really easy but it can be done.

i wanted to do something similiar as well , this is my first 4 cylinder truck and i didnt realize how much slower it would be , if im lucky i get it up to 65 or 70 mph at most , but the funny thing is the truck starts to shake when i reach close to 70 mph

Right now its stock but i didnt know what i could do that would be cost effective but without going to crazy

^^seriously only 70??

seriously need a tuneup or something....mine has no problems hittin 80+ on the highway and i have bigger tires

simple things first.....throttle cable mod....intake mod....both relatively cheap and easy

change plugs and wires, clean MAF....take care of the truck and it will take care of you

yeah its sad it cant go anything over 70 mph max unless i find a very steep hill to go down

Ive already changed my plugs and wires and not much of a change other then it runs smoother

what do you mean as far as throttle cable mods and intake mod , any good ones and what is the rough price range on those 2 mods , well today driving home i was in 5th gear and i had my foot to the floor on the gas pedal and the highest i was at was 65 , even though the speed odometer gauge goes as high as 90 or 100 i think

Well yeah i didnt want to go super crazy with speed , but it would be nice if i could actually get to 70 or 80

One thing though is ive replaced my engine and even my last engine would only go as high as 65 or 70 mph , so if thats true with normally it can go close to 80 mph , what could cause mine to be so slow

Like i said ive replaced my plugs and wires recently , what else could i do , good thing that im off work for a few days so i can take a look at it

shi....I have a hard time staying below 70 in either of my 4 bangers. You got some issues. try the seafoam trick, but I would also suggest a compression check.

Hmmmmmmm, also heard that Seafoam can jack up a motor? I dont know, but 70 mph? You can go faster. my 2.3l will let me do it unless I go up a 1% grade hill.

Went over Monarch pass years back, and had it in third gear, and that thing was doing 65 up, I couldnt believe it.

Well i try that seafoam stuff and hopefully it helps

Im not even sure were is the fuel filter located on my 94 , i kinda thought something under the bed or mabye im wrong , and is it only 1 filter or more then 1

If i replace the filter and try the seafoam stuff and it only helps a little bit what else could be a cause for problems , ive replaced my old fuel pump with a brand new one and i have an engine that is from a 92 ranger i believe that has around 88,000 miles on it

i know it wasn't directed at me but i can still accelerate in 5th all the way to the limiter,
not on steep hills but gradual highway ups and downs are no problem
