Default 92 Ranger - massive oil leak near the filter

I just bought a 92 ranger - for nothing basically.

It's leaking a ton of oil from somewhere in the vacinity of where the oil filter is. (the oil filter has no oil on it)

I can't tell where it's coming from, can anyone make suhhestions on where to look? Is it a seal between the engine/tranny maybe?

thanks for any help!

If the filter was leaking because of two gaskets or not tight wouldn't the filter have oil on it??

It is probably the rocker / cam cover gasket leaking.

fixed

and doubt it

If his is losing as much oil as he says he is it's something on the lower half of the engine

Just trying to keep it simple first. Otherwise my guess is rear main.
